◾️ Game Dev Hub fills a gap that the Thai game industry was missing

Our first encounter with Game Dev Hub (we, admin FLINT) goes back to the PlayNation event in March 2025. At that time, we had the chance to explore an event focused on showcasing various forms of games made by Thai creators—video games, board games, card games, and much more. This event was one that really emphasized giving Thai people, especially on the video game side, a space to ‘show off’ what they’ve got to the general public.

One of the most eye‑catching things that day was the arrival of Stefano, an Italian game developer who is the director of the Game Dev Hub project, along with ‘Khun Ku’ (Coolerist Mk II), who came on board as another co‑founder of the project.

That day, Stefano explained that he wanted to create Game Dev Hub to be a ‘hub’ for people in Thailand’s game industry—whether game developers, game designers, artists, writers, publishers, or anyone in any game‑industry profession living in or passing through Thailand—to use their space to create work, exchange knowledge, hold special events, and to ‘have fun together’ while pushing the Thai game industry forward, especially for indie game creators.

A key inspiration behind this project came from the growth of Thailand’s game industry, where more indie developers were emerging, yet some still lacked a dedicated place to work or certain knowledge needed for game development. Moreover, Thailand had never really had a true ‘community’ for its game industry before. They shared that they wanted to make it easier for people in the industry to ‘reach each other’.

All of this is what captured our interest and made us follow the growth of Game Dev Hub from that moment on—right up to their official opening on June 7, 2025, located on the 16th floor of BB Building, with members showing interest from the very beginning.

◾️ A vital cog in the Thai game industry that we feel is ‘indispensable’

Since Game Dev Hub officially opened, they’ve transformed their space into a co‑working space equipped with office facilities and a studio available for additional use. Those interested can become members on a daily, monthly, or yearly basis (students get a special 50% discount).

After that, they’ve organized a wealth of special activities, including:

GG CONNECT – an event that opens the floor for people across the industry to share their work, contact channels, and personal experiences with new friends.

Hosting Thailand Game Jam, giving people in the game industry, especially the new generation, a space to create games under given themes.

Workshops for game developers, such as teaching Unreal Engine, introducing game design techniques, and marketing. Activities are held both on‑site and online.

Special events tied to major game events that come to Thailand, such as gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show.

Board game, card game, and other tabletop game sessions with hub members.

Meet‑and‑greet sessions and talks with game developers or industry professionals from abroad—some have worked on well‑known AAA titles, some have over 20 years of experience in the game industry—creating special opportunities for everyone to hear their experiences firsthand.

Other special activities that bring people in the game industry together to ‘relax’ in one place! …and much more.

All of this alone has turned Game Dev Hub into an ‘extraordinary place’ that makes Thailand’s game industry more vibrant than ever.

📌 Even though they’ve now had to move from BB Building to J. Press Building in the Rama 3 area, their vital role has always remained crystal clear: to push the Thai game industry forward and to help everyone who walks through their doors see more of the global game industry as well.

As for the atmosphere on June 7, 2026—Game Dev Hub’s recent 1st anniversary—we have to say it was incredibly lively. They held a game showcase where people presented their own titles, plus areas for socializing, playing games, karaoke, and watching the Southeast Asian Games Showcase livestream together. All of this created a colorful anniversary that may not have been extravagant, but was a kind of ‘special’ you can’t find anywhere else.
